Lancaster County offers a variety of unique and interesting activities throughout the year, but now that the beautiful weather is here to stay, many activities exclusive to Spring and Summer are now open for guests. Here at King’s Cottage Bed & Breakfast we provide luxury accommodations all year, and especially during these peak months in Lancaster County.
One such activity is the 31st Annual Demuth Garden Tour & Garden Party. The tour, hosted on June 14 from 10 AM to 5 PM and on June 15 from 11 AM to 5 PM, is provided as an annual fundraiser for Demuth Museum. The museum itself is located on 120 East King St, Lancaster, PA, which is the original home of Charles Demuth and his family. The objective of the museum is to develop an understanding and appreciation of Charles Demuth, his modernist paintings, and his family’s contributions to Lancaster.
As for the tour, you will be taken through exclusive Lancaster residences, viewing an assortment of creative urban gardens and unique home interiors. The tour will also cover the Demuth Garden and Conestoga House Gardens. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 on the day of the tour.
For an exciting evening leading up to the garden tour, do not forget to make a reservation for the Demuth Garden Party, hosted the night before the first tour on June 13. It will feature live music, a silent art auction, and an open bar on the grounds of Conestoga House and Gardens, located at 1608 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, PA.
Guests may also want to keep in mind that The Demuth Museum is only 1.4 miles from King’s Cottage, allowing guests to walk to the museum and enjoy a night out in the city after the tour without ever having to enter a vehicle.
The Demuth Garden Tour is an extremely exciting event in Lancaster County, as it gives guests access to significant pieces of history in downtown Lancaster. Each garden viewed on the tour is a masterwork of urban landscaping, and the home interiors are original, historic, and beautiful. As exciting as the tour itself is, keep in mind that demand will be, and already is, very high, so plan accordingly. We look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of history at King’s Cottage Bed & Breakfast, while you view the beauty that downtown Lancaster has to offer. Sampson will be waiting to greet you at the door!
Summer is the perfect time to go on new adventures and try new things. This summer, King’s Cottage Bed & Breakfast has you covered for the best that Lancaster has to offer.
The knowledgeable guides at Strasburg Scooters will show you the hidden treasures of Lancaster County that cannot be appreciated when cooped up in a car. This summer, along with their highly praised Covered Bridge Tour, Strasburg Scooters is offering an Amish Country Mystery Tour. It will be taking place six Fridays throughout the summer and will include at least one Amish farm and one schoolhouse. The mystery lies in where else the guide will take you! The five-hour tour is scheduled to allow time for shopping, photos, tastings, and whatever else the guide has up his sleeve.
King’s Cottage will be offering a Strasburg Scooter Mystery Tour package that includes the five hour tour and a dinner, all for $294.44 per couple including tax on May 21, when you book that day with us. You can save even more money if you book two nights that week and receive 15% off of your stay. We also handle your reservations for the tour to provide a stress-free week.
For those who have always dreamed of gliding through the air, getting a new perspective on forest wildlife, or facing their fear of heights, the recently opened zip line tours at Refreshing Mountain should be at the top of your list of things to do in Lancaster County. The Challenge Adventure Tour has been in operation since Spring 2010. It combines five zip lines with the option of nine challenge obstacles or a simple catwalk to give you as much or as little adventure as you desire.
The Aerial Excursion tour was opened in March 2013 and was designed to be the premier ziplining experience.
The tour includes seven zip lines, three sky bridges, and a 40-ft rappel ending. With beautiful forest canopy views and the highest of safety standards, Refreshing Mountain provides fun for the whole family adventures that are perfect for the summer.
These are two of the many adventures to be had in Lancaster County, and they showcase a side of Lancaster that is perfect for those wishing to experience new things. We at King’s Cottage have experienced Lancaster County for you, so we can send you in the right direction when you stay with us. Plus, is there really a better way to start a day of adventure than with our gourmet breakfast?

The history of the Amish, their farmlands, and the great history of
Lancaster is known to many, but an equally important aspect of any trip
to Lancaster is the city. Downtown Lancaster offers some of the best
restaurants and entertainment in Pennsylvania. From
upscale dining at restaurants like The Belvedere Inn to the plethora of
microbreweries and wineries; there is a place to relax for everyone.

Downtown Lancaster is also known for its constantly evolving art and
theatre scene. The Fulton Theatre is a staple of downtown Lancaster,
offering shows like “Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story,” “Les Misérables,”
and “Seussical the Musical” through this coming
June. We also offer special theatre pricing when tickets are purchased with your stay.
With this in mind, be sure to plan your next trip to Lancaster County
with King’s Cottage Bed & Breakfast. Not only do guests receive

Lancaster, but the scenic, peaceful Lancaster Amish countryside is just a short drive away. The location is perfect for guests who
